Party Talk: Rab

RabI’m sorry to have to ask ye for help like this so soon after yer fight, laddie, but I’d never be able to find Jade without ye.

Now, the last time she was spotted was over near the orphanage where Vince lives. I’d say we need to start our search there.
RabJade was last seen walking near the orphanage, right? And when we sniffed around there, we found stairs leading down here…

Don’t try and tell me that’s a coincidence, laddie. No, that lass’s around here somewhere, mark my words!
RabAch, it’s a real shame about that Rainbough. I was absolutely convinced ye’d have some kind of vision or something, laddie.

Anyway, there’s no use crying over spilt milk. We need to get moving. Ye never know when those soldiers will be coming back for us…
RabWell, ye saw the vision, laddie. We need to collect those six orbs and take them to the First Forest.

Sounds simple enough, eh? Except we’ve no idea where to find them. We need to ask around and see if anyone can help us find those wee balls.

Now, I’d say the first order of business is to go to Puerto Valor, open the gates, and head out onto the high seas. Let’s head down there, quick sharp.
RabWhat are ye doing, laddie? I don’t think we’ve any reason to be gallivanting around here, do we?

The gates are open in Puerto Valor, so let’s sail out onto the high seas and see what we can find, eh?
RabWell, ye saw the vision, laddie. We need to collect those six orbs and take them to the First Forest.

Sounds simple enough, eh? Except we’ve no idea where to find them. We need to ask around and see if anyone can help us find that bunch of wee balls.

Now, I’d say the first order of business is to go to Puerto Valor, open the gates and head out onto the high seas. Let’s head north-west of here, laddie.
RabServantes is on standby to open the sea gates just as soon as we’re ready, laddie. I hope ye’re all set to travel to pastures new!

Now, if there’s nothing else ye need to do around these parts, let’s hop on board the Stallion! Once we’ve sailed through Puerto Valor, we’ll be out on the open sea!
RabNow I know this is the kind of place that makes ye want to sit in the sun and forget all yer troubles, but we’ve got things to do. Maybe next time, eh?

We need to go and talk to Don Rodrigo. He’s in charge of the sea gates, ye see. He lives in the biggest villa in town, if I remember rightly.
RabAch, it’s a shame Don Rodrigo wasnae around. I’d been looking forward to having a wee chinwag with him. There aren’t many who’ve got his depth of knowledge, let me tell ye!

Still, it was nice to see Servantes looking hale and hearty. I’m sure the three of us will have a wee dram together once all this is over.
Rab‘Slow and steady does it…’ That’s what that wee bunny girl just told me. And ye know what, laddie? I think she might have a point.

So if ye think yer auld Grampa’s going to tell ye to get moving, ye’re wrong! Take all the time ye need to enjoy this place! That’s what I’ll be doing, believe you me!
RabServantes is on standby to open the sea gates just as soon as we’re ready, laddie. I hope ye’re all set to travel to pastures new!

Now, if there’s nothing else ye need to do around these parts, let’s steer the Stallion out towards the open sea!
RabThe gates in Puerto Valor are open, and the open sea’s ours to explore! Let’s see what we can discover, laddie!
RabAch, I still cannae believe it, laddie! I thought ye were dead, but no, here y’are. And what a fine young man ye’ve become!

Now, I know I’ve not been around for ye till now, but I’m going to be making up for that. Whatever I can do to help ye, just say the word. That’s what family’s for!
Rab……
RabYe know, I’m sure I’ve seen that wee Dora lass before somewhere. And not too long ago, either..

Ach, curse this memory of mine! I’m probably getting her mixed up with some other bairn.
RabToday’s the day, laddie. We need to head over to the Nhou Wat ruins on the other side of that hill.

I’ve a funny feeling we need to take a good look at that mural. Don’t ask me why—ye just get a sense for these things when ye get to my age.
RabWe only came here searching for a clue about where to go next. The last thing we expected to find was a giant haunted mural!

Things like that don’t just exist in isolation, laddie. I’ve a funny feeling that painting holds secrets we need to uncover. Well, only one way to find out…
RabOwww… My poor jacksie! That bumpy landing’s given me a terrible bruise on the behind.

I could do with a wee lie down, if I’m honest with ye, but I’ll soldier on.
RabYe don’t need me to tell ye this, laddie, but ye’ll be wanting to keep yer wits about ye. One false step at this stage and ye’re bound to come a cropper…
RabThat magic key of ours should open up some interesting new areas, eh, laddie? Aye, I cannae wait to start exploring again!

Now, I’ve seen that magic key symbol in all sorts of places. Just off the top of my head, there’s the ruins of Zwaardsrust, near the Warrior’s Rest Inn…

Then there was one up in a kingdom by the name of Sniflheim, far north of this wee beach known as the Strand…

…What? Ye want more? Heh! I’d say that’s plenty for ye to be getting on with, laddie!
RabI’ve seen a fair bit of the world, laddie, but I’ve never seen anything quite like this before.

What happens next is anyone’s guess—all I know is that we need to stick together and stay safe.
RabThis isn’t good, laddie… Did ye see the hollow look on those people’s faces? And what about the things that painting was telling us!?

I’ve got a terrible feeling that this isn’t going to end well. Let’s head after those people. I don’t think they’re capable of looking after themselves.
RabSo this mural’s cursed, is it? And it’s been that way for centuries, by the sounds of it…

Right, laddie. Let’s go. Someone’s got to put a stop to this reign of terror—and there’s no time like the present!
RabHeaven knows what would’ve happened if ye hadn’t saved us from those tentacles, laddie.

Aye, this place is nasty, and no mistake. Let’s get out of here as soon as we can, eh?
RabYe heard what she said, didn’t ye, laddie? That name again. Mordegon…

He was the one who reduced this place to ruins, mark my words, and he’ll be looking to do it again somewhere else. But we’re not going to let that happen, are we?
RabAch, now I remember why I wasnae so keen on Phnom Nonh… All those stairs and slopes everywhere! They play havoc with my poor knees!

D’ye know what I fancy more than anything when all this is over? A nice hot bath…
RabD’ye know what, laddie? When ye get to my age, it really warms the cockles of yer heart to be surrounded with bairns who are full of hope for the future. Just being here makes me feel young again!
RabWe need to collect the six coloured orbs and take them to the First Forest, laddie.

If the vision we saw was right, doing that will open up the path to Yggdrasil…
RabThe plan was to see if King Gustaf would lend us his orb, but that doesn’t look like it’s going to be possible now.

We should try and find out what happened here, laddie. We can worry about the orb later…
RabIf all goes to plan, we’ll be leaving here with another orb to our name. I know for a fact that King Gustaf has one, y’see, and I’m pretty sure I could persuade him to hand it over.

Now, if we could just find a way to get inside…
RabI cannae remember if I told you this already, laddie, but King Gustaf’s orb is part of Sniflheim’s royal treasure trove.

Now, the King’s an auld pal of mine, so if I just have a wee chat with him I’m sure he’ll hand it over. Come on, let’s head for the castle without further ado!
RabIf all goes to plan, we’ll be leaving here with another orb to our name. I know for a fact that King Gustaf has one, y’see, and I’m pretty sure I could persuade him to hand it over.

So let’s head for Sniflheim and have a wee chinwag with His Majesty!
RabAye, I remember reading about some terrifying valley where flocks of Hades condors make their nests…

If that’s not where we are, I’ll eat my hat—unless some pesky bird pinches it off my head first!
RabWell, laddie, we got the Green Orb—and that means we’re just that wee bit closer to Yggdrasil.

Let’s take things one step at a time and we’re bound to get there in the end.
RabJings, laddie, this place is some kind of paradise! All the mermaids are just as bonnie as wee Michelle!

Thanks for bringing us down here. Ye’ve made an auld man very happy!
Rab……
RabIf it’s information ye’re after, ye’re best headed to whatever place people get together. Inns, taverns…or in the case of a wee fishing village like this—the harbour.
RabReckless, that’s what it is! They’re fishermen, not fighters—they don’t stand a chance against a maddened tentacular.

Come on, laddie, let’s head over and give them a hand, shall we? We’d be wise to kit ourselves out for a fight before we set sail, mind.
RabSo it wasn’t just a fairy tale… These people are convinced that Michelle stole Kainoa’s soul.

D’ye really think a lovely lassie like her would go round putting curses on people? It doesn’t make any sense…
RabWe’ve come this far, laddie—we can’t back out now. It’s time to bring Michelle and Kai together—the rest they’ll have to work out for themselves.
RabChin up, laddie. What’s done is done, no matter how much we might wish it wasn’t.

What’s important now is to take that sadness and anger, and set about putting things right. That’s what being a true hero’s all about.
RabPoor auld Kai and his mother, eh? They’ve had to live their whole lives with everyone suspecting them of being something they’re not…

They could have run away—made a new life elsewhere—but they’ve stuck it out and made a life for themselves here in Lonalulu. Aye, they’re real tough cookies.
RabIf a mermaid leaves the sea and makes the land her home, if ever she gets wet again, she melts away to foam…

Mermaids are such beautiful creatures, but they’re more fragile than I ever knew.
RabKai’s finally rid himself of the mermaid’s curse. Now he can live his life without that shadow hanging over him.

It wouldnae do for the poor lad to end up like his auld grandpa, living all alone on this forsaken shore.
RabThey say the most beautiful thing in the world is either the full moon on a cloudless night, or the face of a mermaid. Well, now that I’ve seen a mermaid for myself, the moon looks like a dog’s breakfast!

This Kai lad must be an absolute dreamboat to have a bonnie lass like Michelle pining after him!
RabYe cannae fault Michelle’s commitment, the way she’s waiting here so patiently, not knowing when her man will come back…

If I were Kai, I’d drop everything and head over here like a shot, even if I had to swim all the way from Lonalulu!
RabNo matter how much it might grieve the poor wee lassie, her fiancé’s gone. And once someone’s gone, ye cannae bring them back.

Time flows differently for mermaids and men. Kainoa was caught by the current and drifted away…
RabYe heard what Michelle said, did ye not? That if a mermaid ever leaves the sea, she can never go back, or she’ll turn to foam.

It’s a big risk, swimming over to a human village—if one of those fishermen caught her and pulled her out of the water, her jig’d be up.

But the poor wee lassie’s got her heart set on meeting Kai. All we can do is make sure she gets to Lonalulu safe and sound.
RabTo the mermaids, our lives must seem to come and go in the blink of an eye.

Aye, and they’re not wrong—we’ve no time to lose! Until the day that Mordegon’s gone for good, we’ve got to keep moving!
RabMermaids live for five hundred years, the poor lassie’s sure to learn of her fiancé’s passing one day…

Till then, though, she can live here happily, waiting for her man to come. Let’s leave the girl to her daydreams, shall we?
RabIt seems Michelle wasnae just one in a million. Every one of these mermaid girls are absolute knockouts!

Hyeh heh heh. Thanks for bringing me down here, laddie—I thought I’d have to pop my clogs before I made it to paradise!
RabNow we’ve got our hands on the Green Orb, we’re one step closer to making our way to the World Tree.

Still, there’s no need to rush—just take it one step at a time, and we’ll get there in the end.
RabReckless, that’s what it is! They’re fishermen, not fighters—they don’t stand a chance against a maddened tentacular.

Come on, laddie, let’s try and find the fleet before it’s too late.
RabIf we play Lorelei’s harp over the shining whirlpool in the middle of the inland sea, we’ll be dragged down to Nautica—the home of the mermaids.

But that isn’t the only whirlpool around, is it? I wonder where the others lead to…
RabWhat’s the idea bringing us here, laddie? Are we not going to find out what happened to that Orb that sank to the bottom of the sea?

I mean, I’ve been really looking forward to meeting the queen of the mermaids. I’ve combed my moustache and everything…
RabTell me, laddie—have ye found yerself a girlfriend yet? Och, it’s a fine thing, love—it makes yer heart go pitter-pat!

When I was your age, I had to beat the girls away with a stick! …Literally!
RabJings! One minute we’re at the bottom of the ocean, the next we find ourselves in the Champs Sauvage!

How long has it been since me and the Princess last set foot here? It can only be fate that’s brought us back!
RabHere to get some practise talking to girls, are ye? Hyeh heh! When I was your age, they were the ones who came to me!
RabI once read about a terrifying valley that’s ruled over by a gang of vicious Hades condors…

And d’ye know, I reckon we’ve found it. If the name’s anything to go by, there’s sure to be some big, bad birds nearby.
RabThe Blue Orb is one of the national treasures of Sniflheim. It’s been passed down in the royal family for generations.

I’m sure King Gustaf will be willing to lend it to us, though—me and him are auld pals after all—but first things first, we need to find a way into the city.
RabI don’t know if I’ve told ye this already, but the Blue Orb is one of the national treasures of Sniflheim. It’s been passed down in the royal family for generations.

King Gustaf’s an auld friend of mine, though, so I’m sure he’ll lend us the Orb if we ask him nicely. Come on, laddie—let’s go and twist his arm!
RabCrivens… I thought we’d just stop by for a wee chat with King Gustaf, pick up the Orb and be on our way, but it looks like Sniflheim’s in a bit of a pickle.

We’ve got to get to the bottom of this, laddie. The Orb can wait till later.
Rab……
RabSo auld King Gustaf’s no more… Ach, it’s a real shame. He was a wise, unflappable ruler who loved his people well, and was well-loved in turn.

And now a wicked witch has brought his kingdom to its knees… We have to give her what for and save this place—for Gus’s sake.
RabIf we don’t save Sniflheim, Queen Frysabel will be left all on her lonesome, the poor wee thing.

We’ve got to get rid of that rotten witch as quick as we can, and put this kingdom back on its feet.
RabOch, it’s a wee bit chillier round here now than it was before. I’ll warrant it’s got something to do with that witch getting her powers back.

Aye, we made a bit of a blunder beating up that magical beast, didn’t we? What was Queen Frysabel thinking, telling us it was in league with the witch?
RabWhoever would have thought that Queen Frysabel was Krystalinda all along…? That wicked witch certainly gave us the runaround, and no mistake.

Still, we managed to see through her little disguise eventually, and bunged her back in the book for good measure. All’s well that ends well, as they say.
RabKrystalinda’s tale about the young man freeing her from the book doesnae bode well, but at least we got our hands on the Blue Orb.

Now, it’s high time we were moving on. Lead the way, laddie!
RabListen, laddie—ye’ve got this whole mucky magazine business the wrong way round. Those things go for silly money! I wasnae going to read it—I was going to sell it and help fund the restoration of Dundrasil!

Imagine that, eh? Risking personal humiliation, and all to help rebuild the kingdom we love! If ye ask me, you lot owe me an apology!
RabIt’s been a fair wee while since last I set foot in this castle. Aye, I reckon it was back when me and auld King Gustaf still had full heads of hair! Happy days…
RabFirst we find out that Her Majesty was the wicked witch in disguise yet again, and now it looks like the real queen’s in cahoots with her!

Can somebody please explain to me what in blue blazes is going on around here!?
RabIt’s a ruler’s duty to stand in the vanguard and lead from the front. I’ve been there myself, so I know what I’m saying when I tell ye that the burden resting on Queen Frysabel’s shoulders is a weighty one indeed.

I reckon the lassie can handle it, though—after all, she’s her father’s daughter. She’s as wise and as prudent as auld King Gustaf, and his father before him.

No, there’s no need to worry about this place going down the nick again. With Queen Frysabel in charge, Sniflheim’s sure to go from strength to strength!
RabThe Blue Orb’s one of the Sniflheimian royal family’s most precious treasures. It’s locked up tight in the castle vaults.

We’ve no chance of getting our mitts on it till the ice around the castle is gone. What do ye say we go and have a word with that witch? See if we can’t…persuade her to dispel her magic?
RabI’ve heard Snorri’s name before, ye know. Aye, he’s quite the celebrity among Sniflheimian scholars.

If he can find what he’s looking for in the Royal Library, we might just be able to figure a way to save this kingdom.
RabIf what that book Snorri found in the library said is true, then we’ve been looking at this whole situation topsy-turvy.

I’m still not entirely sure what’s going on around here, but if anyone can tell us, it’s the Queen. What do ye say we go back to Sniflheim and have a heart-to-heart with the wee lassie?
RabThe Blue Orb’s one of the Sniflheimian royal family’s most precious treasures. It’s locked up tight in the castle vaults.

Queen Frysabel said she’d let us have it as a reward for saving Sniflheim. Let’s head on over to the castle before she changes her mind, shall we?
RabSniflheim should be safe in Queen Frysabel’s hands. Aye, the lassie’s got a wise head on those young shoulders.

It’s time for us to get back on the road. After all, the path to Yggdrasil isn’t going to summon itself!
RabThe Snærfelt’s a bitter place, even by Sniflheimian standards. Even the local hunters don’t dare stay out here too long—soon as they’ve checked their traps, they high-tail it back to the city before they freeze to death!
RabMichty me, this forest just goes on and on! You could easily lose your way among all these identical trees.

The only thing we’ve got to guide us is the river. We’d be wise not to stray too far from it.
RabSo auld Jörmun had the power to seal away the witch’s magic… That’s a rare talent, and no mistake.
RabCould this be the legendary Royal Library of Sniflheim? I’ve heard tales about the place, but I was never sure how many of them were true.

They say it was built in the Age of Heroes to house the combined knowledge of all humankind. Some call it the ‘Pinnacle of Wisdom’.

Chances are there’s a fair few volumes in here that’ll come in handy on our little adventure. If ye spot anything that looks useful, be sure to read it from cover to cover!
RabAbout that book I borrowed the last time I was here… It’s what ye might call a ‘gentleman’s magazine’—a publication filled with pictures of—

…Ach, but I shouldn’t be telling ye this. You’re at an impressionable age, laddie…and trust me—this stuff makes an impression! Whisht! I’ll say no more!
RabDid ye know this academy’s famous for its magical meals?

They say a wee nibble on one of Madame Croque’s specialities will give you a warm, fuzzy feeling—just like being transported back to your schooldays!
RabMordegon’s the one pulling the strings in Heliodor, and it’s all to get rid of you, laddie—yer the only one who can defeat him.

Only you can wield the power that sleeps in Yggdrasil’s heart—the blade that can cut through the darkness and bring Mordegon’s shadowy schemes to an end.
RabKrystalinda might’ve made it more difficult than it had to be, but we finally got our hands on the Blue Orb. All’s well that ends well, eh?
RabThis place seems so…pure. It’s a wonder they let a fellow like me through the gates! Hyeh heh! Well, now we’re here, why don’t we have a wee nosey round town?
RabI once read about a terrifying valley that’s ruled over by a gang of vicious Hades condors…

And d’ye know, I reckon we’ve found it. If the name’s anything to go by, there’s sure to be some big, bad birds nearby.
RabNow we’ve got our hands on the Green Orb, we’re one step closer to making our way to the World Tree.

Still, there’s no need to rush—just take it one step at a time, and we’ll get there in the end.
RabIt seems Michelle wasnae just one in a million. Every one of these mermaid girls are absolute knockouts!

Hyeh heh heh. Thanks for bringing me down here, laddie—I thought I’d have to pop my clogs before I made it to paradise!
Rab……
RabThe First Forest’s just through the cathedral, then it’s onwards and upwards to the World Tree. We’ve been on the road a fair wee while, but our journey’s nearly at an end.

Well, the first part at least. Once you’re kitted out with whatever power auld Yggdrasil has to offer ye, the fun can really begin! Mordegon’s clock is well and truly ticking!
RabErdwin, the Luminary of Legend… Aye, I knew the name, but I’d never seen his picture till now.

Well, they don’t call these people the ‘Keepers’ for nothing. They’re still holding on to the auld stories, even after a millennium or more has been and gone…
RabWhat’s the matter, laddie? Did ye forget something back in Arboria?

Well, as soon as ye’re done doing whatever ye need to do, let’s head back to the First Forest. Mustn’t keep the World Tree waiting now!
RabI had wondered how we were ever going to make it up to Yggdrasil, but I must admit, climbing through the skies on a road made of rainbows never crossed my mind.

Come on, laddie. Let’s go. There’s a weapon waiting for ye up there that’ll cut down the darkness once and for all!
RabThere’s nothing I’d like more than to put an end to Mordegon’s wicked schemes. He’s the one behind the destruction of Dundrasil—the one who turned our lives upside down.

Come on, laddie. We’ve got all the Orbs we need. It’s time to head to the First Forest, then up to Yggdrasil to claim the power that’s rightfully yours!
RabHahh… Hahh… It’s a wee bit hilly round these parts, wouldn’t ye say?

When I was your age, I’d have taken these slopes in my stride—Rabby Strong Legs, they used to call me! Ach, but my auld knees aren’t what they once were…
RabThe altar we saw in the vision is somewhere in this forest. We just have to find it and offer up the Orbs, and it’s onwards and upwards to Yggdrasil!

Let’s get going, laddie. There’s something up in those branches that’ll let us put auld Mordegon in his place!
RabHere we are in the First Forest, right beneath Yggdrasil’s boughs. This is the closest I’ve ever been, but soon enough we’ll be meeting Her face-to-face!

Come on, laddie—that altar’s around here somewhere. Let’s head on up the hill, and keep our eyes peeled as we go!
RabEach and every leaf on the World Tree’s boughs represents a person’s life, eh? I wonder which one’s mine… Let me know if ye see one with a moustache! Hyeh heh!
RabDid ye know this academy’s famous for its magical meals?

They say a single bite of one of Madame Croque’s specialities will give you a warm, fuzzy feeling—just like being transported back to your schooldays!
RabWhen we finally come face-to-face with the Heart of Yggdrasil, I’m going to give Her my thanks for keeping ye safe all these years.

After all, laddie—ye’re not only the Luminary and the Prince of Dundrasil, ye’re also my one and only grandson! I don’t know what I’d do without ye!
RabYour father, the brave King Irwin, wasnae so brave when his wedding day rolled around. He was so nervous, he just couldn’t sit still!

Hyeh heh heh. Looks like ye take after him, laddie. Ye’d better take a wee minute for yer beating heart to be still—and then we’ll head on over to Yggdrasil and get this show on the road!

Rab……
RabIf we’re going to finally face the Lord of Shadows, it sounds like we may well need that flying contraption Erdwin once used.

And if we’re trying to follow in the great man’s footsteps, another visit to Arboria might not be a bad idea…
RabIf we’re going to finally face the Lord of Shadows, it sounds like we may well need that flying contraption Erdwin once used.

And if we’re trying to follow in the great man’s footsteps, another visit to Arboria might not be a bad idea…

Sylvando went to drop off those friends of his down at Puerto Valor. Let’s head on down and pick him up before we set sail, shall we?
RabIf we’re going to finally face the Lord of Shadows, it sounds like we may well need that flying contraption Erdwin once used.

And if we’re trying to follow in the great man’s footsteps, another visit to Arboria might not be a bad idea…

But before we head up there, there’s a sneaky wee path through the mountains west of the Costa Valor that leads to the Champs Sauvage. Might as well have a nose around while we’re in the area, eh?
RabEven were we to venture into the void, we would not meet the Grand Master. The Lord of Shadows has defeated her and now no trace of her spirit remains. I can feel it…

Well, we cannae allow that to go unpunished! We’ve got to avenge the Grand Master!

Ridding the world of Mordegon will be my tribute to the one who taught me so much…
RabLooks like the girls are still in high spirits, even in these benighted times.

That’s Monsieur Médaillé’s influence, mark my words. Aye, if it’s enthusiasm ye’re after, ye couldn’t ask for a finer role model than him.

Maybe he could give me a few tips on being a good role model to you…
RabDid ye hear what Dave said, laddie? It seems that all the guests who stay at the Warrior’s Rest Inn over in Zwaardsrust have exactly the same dream…

Sounds intriguing, doesn’t it? Why don’t we make that our next port of call?
RabNow we’ve got a ship at our disposal again, the world really is our oyster. We’d do well to try and follow in the footsteps of Erdwin, laddie.

After all, we’re probably going to need to use that flying contraption of his to get to the Lord of Shadows’ fortress.

Now, if ye ask me, a wee trip to Arboria wouldnae be a bad next move. And let’s see if we can’t find a few of our auld friends while we’re at it, eh?
RabI knew that Don Rodrigo had a son, and that he’d run off ages ago, but never in a million years would I have guessed it was our Sylvando!

Hendrik says he had a big auld barney with his auld man, and that’s why he upped and left. What did they fight about, I wonder…
RabHyeh heh heh! Auld Avarith wasnae half as clever as she thought she was, eh? We didn’t fall for any of her nonsense.

And did ye see her face when Sylvando gave her that lump of horse dung? Ach, I’ve not seen anything that funny in years! Good on him!
RabCan ye believe it!? This wee lad ventured out all on his lonesome, just to get some attention from his auld man!

I don’t believe this Da character, though, saying some piece of jewellery was more important than his own flesh and blood. I cannae get my head around it…
RabHyeh heh heh! Those lads from the parade certainly know how to dance! What’s the betting Sylvando’s been teaching them a move or two?

Well, I can’t let these young whippersnappers get the better of me. I used to be able to cut a decent rug myself, back in my younger days…
RabIt looks like life here in Phnom Nonh is getting back to normal. Aye, it always amazes me how resilient people can be.

But resilience alone won’t rid the world of the Lord of Shadows. That’s why it’s down to us to take care of him once and for all.
RabI knew it, laddie! I knew Da would never do something so cruel to his boy! It was just a big misunderstanding all along!

I’m sure they’re going to be just fine from now on—better than ever, most likely!

I’m not so sure about Sylvando, though. He was looking a wee bit glum back there. I wonder what’s the matter with him…?
RabI cannae help it, laddie. Whenever I see family being reunited, I think back to the moment I saw ye for the first time after all those years apart.

Aye, ye can feel the joy in the air. We did a good thing here. We should be proud of ourselves.
RabYou know, laddie, all those years when you were lost to me, it felt like a piece of my soul was missing…

I know what these folks are going through—and that’s why we have to defeat Avarith!

But we can’t afford to rush into this blindly. Avarith is a servant of the Lord of Shadows. She isn’t going to just roll over for us…
RabAch, can ye believe what that monster did!? Lying to these poor people, pinching their stuff—and abducting a few of them for good measure!? It’s unforgivable!

I’ll tell ye what, laddie—I’m looking forward to trying out my new Pearly Gates move on that horrible beastie. She won’t know what’s hit her!
RabOne of those wee fellas from the parade told me they were travelling aboard the Salty Stallion, the way we used to do. I wonder if this means we’ll find them camped out on the beach…?
RabHyeh heh heh! The lads from the parade seem as full of beans as ever! They’ve obviously taken to life in Puerto Valor. Maybe I’ll join them for a wee jig sometime…
RabIt seems the good folk of Puerto Valor don’t quite know what to make of the lads in the parade. Ach, I don’t blame them. I was a wee bit taken aback when I first clapped eyes on that lot too!

Anyway, never mind all that. I’ve heard that Don Rodrigo got himself injured saving some wee bairn from a monster. I just hope he’s going to be alright…
RabHmm… This isn’t the Costa Valor I used to know, that’s for sure. Something’s different… I just hope auld Don Rodrigo’s the same as he ever was. If he of all people has changed, I don’t know what I’d do!
RabAch, this place is awfully gloomy, eh? Mordegon’s behind this, mark my words. I cannae help but worry about my auld pal Don Rodrigo…

I’d love to have a wee catch-up with him and Servantes, but now doesn’t seem like a good time.
RabJust what are we doing in a casino, laddie!? Do ye really think this is the time to to be gambling!?

…Och, don’t worry yer head! I’m just having a wee joke! There’s nothing wrong with letting yer hair down once in a while!

Now, since we’re here, we might as well make the most of it, eh? Let’s see if one of these bunny girls won’t let us have a wee game of poker with them…
RabOch, I’ve lived a fair wee while, but I’ve never heard of a parade marching all the way around the world before! Trust Sylvando to come up with something so extraordinary!

Now we’ve found him again, it’s celebration time! I picked up a few moves of my own up in Angri-La—I’ll show you whippersnappers ye don’t have to be young and beautiful to cut a rug!
RabIf we could get our hands on Erdwin’s famous flying contraption, we could soar on up to the Lord of Shadows’ gaff and give the blighter what-for!

But first, we better see about tracking down our auld pals. None of them were exactly the giving-up sort, eh? Not even the fall of Yggdrasil would be enough to keep them down.

So what do ye say we kill two birds with one stone? We can ask around for information about Erdwin’s flying thingumajig and keep an eye out for familiar faces along the way.
RabI cannae believe this hustling, bustling tourist town has fallen so low… Damn yer eyes, Mordegon!
RabWhen we first came here, there was so much we didn’t know. We’d yet to discover that Mordegon was behind the destruction of this ancient civilisation.

And then we saw what he did to Yggdrasil… Aye, we underestimated his powers and no mistake.

If we could go back, there’s a lot of things we’d do differently, but there’s no point in living in the past. We’ve just got to try and stop him wreaking any more havoc.
RabIf that star collides with Gallopolis, it’s not going to be pretty…

Aye, the Sultan must be beside himself with worry, I’ll warrant. Let’s go and see how he’s faring. Maybe he knows something about this star that we don’t.
RabIf that star collides with Gallopolis, it’s not going to be pretty.
RabIf that star collides with Gallopolis, it’s not going to be pretty.

Aye, the Sultan must be beside himself with worry, I’ll warrant. Let’s go and see how he’s faring. Maybe he knows something about this star that we don’t.
RabSo it seems the Sultan’s been busy researching Erdwin’s Lantern.

Come on, laddie, let’s go and see what he’s found out!
RabI don’t believe I ever told ye this, laddie, but I was no stranger to this racecourse when I was your age.

No, in our heyday, King Carnelian, the Sultan and I would meet here and spend entire days racing.

And d’ye know something? I never lost a single race! Unbeatable, I was! Ho ho ho!
RabI know we’ve got things we need to be doing, but it’s not a bad idea to come to places like this once in a while and take a wee breather.

My back’s been playing up something rotten lately, so I reckon a wee trip to the bathhouse would do me a world of good.
RabHmm… This isn’t the Costa Valor I used to know, that’s for sure. Something’s different… I just hope auld Don Rodrigo’s the same as he ever was. If he of all people has changed, I don’t know what I’d do!
RabI knew that Don Rodrigo had a son, and that he’d run off ages ago, but never in a million years would I have guessed it was our Sylvando!

Hendrik says he had a big auld barney with his auld man, and that’s why he upped and left. What did they fight about, I wonder…
RabOne of those fellas from the parade told me they were travelling aboard the Salty Stallion, the way we used to do. I’m a wee bit jealous, I must say…

RabAch, this place is awfully gloomy, eh? Mordegon’s behind this, mark my words. I cannae help but worry about my auld pal Don Rodrigo…

I’d love to have a wee catch-up with him and Servantes, but now doesn’t seem like a good time.

Anyway, never mind all that. I’ve heard that Don Rodrigo got himself injured saving some wee bairn from a monster. I just hope he’s going to be alright…
RabDon Rodrigo was in fine fettle! That’s a relief! Ach, I don’t know why I was ever worried. It’d take more than a bump on the head to beat that grizzled auld fighter!

Now, I’d love to have a proper chinwag with the Don, but we should leave him and Hendrik to have a wee catch-up first.

In the meantime, let’s see if we can find Sylvando. He must be in town somewhere…
RabI understand why Don Rodrigo got upset about Sylvando’s choice of career. If ye come from a long line of knights, having your boy tell you he’d rather run away with the circus must be a shock, eh?

Mind you, I don’t blame Sylvando for staying away, either. I’ve seen Don Rodrigo lose his rag a fair few times. If I was on the receiving end, I might make myself scarce for a couple of decades too!

Still, it’s a sad story. No matter how bad their row was, it should never have taken them this long to bury the hatchet…
RabThank heavens that Don Rodrigo and Sylvando managed to resolve their differences! And who’d have thought the Don would look so good in one of those outfits, eh?

Ach, I know he tried his best not to show it, but you could tell how happy he was to see his boy again after all these years.

I mean, they are family, after all. There are bonds that are never going to break, no matter what kind of barney ye have. We saw it over in Phnom Nonh with Da and Son, didn’t we?
RabHyeh heh heh! The lads from the parade seem as full of beans as ever! They’ve obviously taken to life in Puerto Valor. Maybe I’ll join them for a wee jig sometime…
RabJust what are we doing in a casino, laddie!? Do ye really think this is the time to to be gambling!?

RabCome to have one last glimpse at these bunny lassies before we start our journey, eh, laddie?

That’s not a bad idea at all. We could all do with a wee something to put a spring in our step!
RabHyeh heh heh! Those lads from the parade certainly know how to dance! What’s the betting Sylvando’s been teaching them a move or two?

Well, I can’t let these young whippersnappers get the better of me. I used to be able to cut a decent rug myself, back in my younger days…

Auld Avarith wasnae half as clever as she thought she was, eh? We didn’t fall for any of her nonsense.

And did ye see her face when Sylvando gave her that lump of horse dung? Ach, I’ve not seen anything that funny in years! Good on him!

RabAch, can ye believe what that monster did!? Lying to these poor people, pinching their stuff—and abducting a few of them for good measure!? It’s unforgivable!

I’ll tell ye what, laddie—I’m looking forward to trying out my new Pearly Gates move on that horrible beastie. She won’t know what’s hit her!

But we can’t afford to rush into this blindly. Avarith is a servant of the Lord of Shadows. She isn’t going to just roll over for us…
RabI cannae help it, laddie. Whenever I see family being reunited, I think back to the moment I saw ye for the first time after all those years apart.

Aye, ye can feel the joy in the air. We did a good thing here. We should be proud of ourselves.
RabAch, I’m over the moon to have auld Sylvando back on board. We’re looking like a pretty impressive team now—the Lord of Shadows should be quaking in his boots!

I think our pal’s gone and left the village already. I reckon we should follow suit.
RabIt looks like life here in Phnom Nonh is getting back to normal. Aye, it always amazes me how resilient people can be.

But resilience alone won’t rid the world of the Lord of Shadows. That’s why it’s down to us to take care of him once and for all.

RabThere’s something so pure about this place, ye cannae ever imagine evil polluting it, can ye? Aye, I’d say this is a fine place to get an education.
RabIf we’re going to finally face the Lord of Shadows, it sounds like we may well need that flying contraption Erdwin once used.

And if we’re trying to follow in the great man’s footsteps, another visit to Arboria might not be a bad idea…
RabDid ye hear what Dave said, laddie? It seems that all the guests who stay at the Warrior’s Rest Inn over in Zwaardsrust have exactly the same dream…

Sounds intriguing, doesn’t it? Why don’t we make that our next port of call?
RabAch, it’s great to see you again, laddie, but this isn’t the time to celebrate. The Lord of Shadows needs to be stopped.

Now, if we’re going to get ourselves up to his flying fortress, I reckon we need to be on the lookout for that flying contraption Erdwin used.

And if we’re following in the great man’s footsteps, another visit to Arboria mightn’t be a bad idea. With luck, we’ll bump into some of our auld friends!
RabEven were we to venture into the void, we would not meet the Grand Master. The Lord of Shadows has defeated her and now no trace of her spirit remains. I can feel it…

Well, we cannae allow that to go unpunished! We’ve got to avenge the Grand Master!

Ridding the world of Mordegon will be my tribute to the one who taught me so much…
RabIf that star collides with Gallopolis, it’s not going to be pretty…

Aye, the Sultan must be beside himself with worry, I’ll warrant. Let’s go and see how he’s faring. Maybe he knows something about this star that we don’t.

My back’s been playing up something rotten lately, so I reckon a wee trip to the bathhouse would do me a world of good.
RabOch, it was nothing short of a miracle, laddie! I thought we’d lost ye to the depths…

But then there was a bright light, and suddenly there ye were, floating up from the seabed! That’s the luck of the Luminary for ye!

This is no time to be dwelling on yer good fortune, though. Ye remember what Dave said about everyone at the Warrior’s Rest having the same dream?

Well if ye ask me, it’s high time we go and investigate!
RabThe likes of Alizarin are no match for the power of the Luminary. The ocean’s safe for seafarers once again!

Ach, but if we don’t defeat the Lord of Shadows, who knows where the next hideous beastie might spring from. Come on, laddie. Let’s get going!
RabThat beastie headed out to sea, but I didn’t think it’d be wise to follow. Not while he’s got that barrier protecting him.

No, we need to have a wee think about how to get past his defences.

Now, I reckon we’d be best heading back to shore for the time being. Dave was telling me about this inn called the Warrior’s Rest over in Zwaardsrust. Apparently everyone who stays there has the same dream…

I reckon we should pay it a visit and see what’s going on.
RabThe likes of Alizarin are no match for the power of the Luminary. The ocean’s safe for seafarers once again!

Now, ye spotted that pillar of light, didn’t ye, laddie? Ah, it’s a shame we don’t have Lorelei’s harp to hand…

Never mind, though. Let’s visit a few spots we’ve not been to yet and see if we can’t round up more of our missing companions. Who knows, we may well find that harp, too!
RabJust when I thought things couldn’t get any stranger, now there are sea-dwellers on dry land…

They’re dealing with it better than I’d expect, I must say, but they’re still fish out of water, and no mistake.
RabJust when I thought things couldn’t get any stranger, now there are sea-dwellers on dry land…

Well, they seem happy enough up here. Who knows, maybe their ancestors lived up here before heading underwater?
RabAch, it’s a crying shame to see such a lively place in this sorry state.

But then with Alizarin out there, I can see why folks would want to steer clear of the coast. Just another reason for us to get rid of him, eh, laddie?
RabAye, now the sea’s safe again, the people of Gondolia can get on with their lives. They owe it all to you, laddie.

We cannae rest on our laurels just yet, though. Not while the Lord of Shadows is out there…
RabAh, now this is a fine auld spot, right enough! Lovely mermaids, nice sea views…what more could anyone want, eh?

Och, I’m feeling all inspired! Come on, laddie! Let’s do it for the mermaids! Let’s go and show the Lord of Shadows what for!
RabYe know, coming to a nice peaceful place like this, all thoughts of the Lord of Shadows just seem to drift away…

But we cannae start thinking like that! No, laddie, let’s take a wee breather here and then we’ll be raring to go!
RabOch, it’s sad to see the sorry state the world’s in since Yggdrasil fell.

But there’s no sense in complaining about it. We’ve got a job to do—we’ve got to defeat the Lord of Shadows, once and for all!

RabWe need to find out what’s going on with Erdwin’s Lantern and that means we’ll have to venture into the Celestial Sands.

There’s a checkpoint on the way, but I believe the Sultan’s already sent word to the guards to let them know we’re coming.
RabYe’ll not remember this, of course, but back when I was the King of Dundrasil, I had a reputation for refusing to let anything lie until I’d got to the bottom of it.

So if Erdwin’s Lantern really does have some runes carved into the side of it, we’re not leaving the Sands until we’ve worked out what they say!
RabCalasmos… Calasmos… Ach, it’s no good! It isn’t ringing any bells at all!

If it’s carved onto the side of the Lantern, it must mean something. Come on, laddie, let’s see if the Sultan can shed any light on the subject.
RabMaybe it was just a coincidence, but it did look a lot like the Lantern was falling towards those ruins.

Do ye think there could be some connection between the two? There’s a whole lot of strange carvings on those stone pillars after all…
RabWe’ve not got much time left, laddie. Let’s forge ourselves a new Sword of Light and head for the Fortress of Fear.
RabCalasmos…? Calas Mos? Cal Asmos…?

Ach, it’s no good. Those runes carved into the Lantern don’t make any sense, no matter how you slice them.
RabIf someone went to the trouble of carving ‘Calasmos’ into Erdwin’s Lantern, it must mean something…

Ach, I’m going to drive myself mad if I think about it any more! I need to stay focused!
RabWell, laddie, we’ve got ourselves a Forging Hammer! Now let’s track down the rest of the stuff we need.

Once we’ve got everything, we just need to locate the Crucible. Apparently it’s concealed somewhere deep within Mount Huji…

Ho ho ho!
RabI was quite the wee scholar back in my day, laddie. Och aye, a real prodigy.

It stands to reason though, eh? Ye don’t become as wise and knowledgeable as I am now if ye don’t get started early! Hyeh heh heh!
RabOch, it’s sad to see the sorry state the world’s in since Yggdrasil fell.

But there’s no sense in complaining about it. We’ve got a job to do—we’ve got to defeat the Lord of Shadows, once and for all!
RabDid ye see how the whole Crucible reacted when ye held up the Guiding Light, laddie?

However the ancients built it, they made sure that only the Luminary could trigger their contraption…
RabMiko’s maid spoke of using the Guiding Light to call forth the ancient forge…

Well, we may as well give it a try, eh? Come on, laddie, let’s throw it into the lava and see what happens.

I mean, it has to be better than standing round here scratching our sweaty heads…
RabI was worried that all of the orichalcum would have been carried off as the spoils of war, but it seems we were in luck.

We might even have enough of the stuff to make ourselves a sword… Fingers crossed, eh?
RabAh, puff-puff… Now there’s a word to put a smile on an auld man’s face.

Of course, it means different things to different people, depending on who they are or where they’re from…

Aye, we’ve all still got a lot to learn about the ancient art of puff-puff, laddie…and I for one cannae wait to discover more!
RabOur wee pal told us that all of the ore might have been taken after the battle they had up here.

Here’s hoping there’s a little bit left for us, eh? Come on, let’s get hunting!
RabI’d been hoping we’d have a chance to visit Hotto and have a hot bath… But something just doesn’t seem quite right here, does it, laddie?

Well, it’ll do us no good to ignore it. Let’s ask a few of the locals and find out what’s going on.
RabMiko’s maid spoke of using the Guiding Light to call forth the ancient Crucible…

Well, we may as well give it a try, eh? Come on, laddie, let’s throw it into the lava and see if we can reveal the same forge we saw in the vision.

It’s not like we’ve got much in the way of other leads to be following, eh?
RabSo it seems Erdwin forged the original Sword of Light somewhere inside Mount Huji.

We should get back there and have a wee word with Miko’s maid. She seemed like she knew a thing or two.
RabThe man we saw in our dream was wearing Drasilian armour, laddie. Ye can take my word for it.

Let’s head over to what’s left of the auld city. I have a feeling we’ll find out who he is once we’re there.
RabI cannae imagine how you must be feeling right now, laddie. Aye, ye’ve been reunited with yer auld man, but he was in an awful state.

I have faith in you, though. I know ye’ve got what it takes to save Irwin.

Why don’t ye start by talking to him yerself? I have a feeling he’ll respond better to his own flesh and blood.
RabNice work, laddie! Ye found out what’s stopping Irwin from crossing over to the other side!

Now ye just need to do something about it. Let’s head back to the ruins of Dundrasil!
RabLet’s not start moping, laddie, else we’ll never get anything done. We need to keep moving.

Now, I reckon Octagonia’d be a good place to visit next. It’s not too far from Dundrasil, and there’s plenty of folks there for us to have a wee chat with.
RabIf the martial artist that lad was chatting about isn’t our Jade, I’ll eat my hat.

Chances are she’s still in Octagonia, laddie. Let’s head over there and find out, eh?
RabIf we’re going to solve the mystery of that poor man in the dream, the answers lie here in Dundrasil, mark my words.

In fact, I think I know exactly where we need to head. Come on, laddie. Let’s push on.
RabYe know what gave you the powers of the Luminary back, don’t ye, laddie? It was yer parents’ love. Nothing else could have done the trick.

Now it’s up to us to make sure we don’t let them down. Let’s defeat Mordegon and bring peace back to Erdrea!
RabThis place has seen better days, eh, laddie? It’s gone to rack and ruin like the rest of the city. Mind you watch your footing in the dark…

Now, if my suspicions are correct, we just need to push on a little further. With a bit of luck, all our questions about that dream will soon become clear…
RabThat monster has been keeping poor Irwin trapped in a world of despair, laddie!

Let’s give it a good hiding and set your auld man free!
RabSeeing all these wee lassies here reminds me of Eleanor when she was a bairn.

She wasnae much of a one for ladylike pursuits, truth be told. She’d always be climbing up trees, ripping her new dresses to shreds. She’d drive her poor mother spare.

She just wouldn’t listen to reason. I mean, I remember her telling us that one day she was going to climb to the top of Yggdrasil! Aye, she was strong-willed, that one! Hyeh heh heh!
RabOch, it’s sad to see the sorry state the world’s in since Yggdrasil fell.

But there’s no sense in complaining about it. We’ve got a job to do—we’ve got to defeat the Lord of Shadows, once and for all!
RabCan Jade really be here? What can she be thinking, eh? This place is crawling with monsters!

We need to find her, laddie, and fast. Until we do that, we’ll be none the wiser about what’s going on here.

My back’s been playing up something rotten lately, so I reckon a wee trip to the bathhouse would do me a world of good.
RabWith the Lord of Shadows ruling the roost, what Erdrea needs is a wee bit of hope.

And if we’re going to give people that hope, we’re going to need the help of our pals! Let’s head to Octagonia and see if we cannae find Jade, eh?
RabThat Lorelei’s harp thing Jade gave ye should let us travel to places we’ve not been before.

But before we seek out pastures new, perhaps we should investigate this giant lump of gold that’s blocking the way to Sniflheim…

It cannae be easy for them up there, being cut off from the world. Let’s head north to see what we can find!
RabIf I know Jade, she’ll have hatched some madcap plan to try and save this place from the monsters…

She’s never been the type to ignore injustice—no, she has to get involved. Not that that’s a bad thing, ye understand…
RabI’ll be honest with ye, laddie, I thought that Jade was lost to us forever. I cannae begin to explain how relieved I was when she came to her senses!

Now, how about we try using Lorelei’s harp to visit some areas we’ve not been to before, eh?
RabHyeh heh heh! This takes me back, laddie! D’ye remember when we came down here to look for Jade after the MMA tournament?

We’re not going to find her down here this time, though. Let’s try looking somewhere else, eh?
RabI remember when ye were a bairn, ye couldn’t stand the dark. As soon as the lights went out, ye started bawling…

Ye’ve come a long way since then, and that’s just as well. It wouldnae do to be afraid of the dark at your age!
RabIf it weren’t for that terrible night in Dundrasil, wee Jade could’ve grown up just like these girls. Maybe she’d even have come to this school…
RabIf that star collides with Gallopolis, it’s not going to be pretty…

Aye, the Sultan must be beside himself with worry, I’ll warrant. Let’s go and see how he’s faring. Maybe he knows something about this star that we don’t.

RabThose wee bairns said they wanted to stop Miko’s rite.

We need to find out why.
RabI remember wee Veronica telling me that she was kidnapped by monsters here in Hotto, back before Yggdrasil fell.

Now it seems the folks here have a new beastie to contend with—some places just don’t have much luck, eh?
RabWhatever secret awaits us at the volcano’s heart, we’ll need to be well prepared.

We’ve got a wee bairn to protect now. If anything were to happen to him, his mother would never forgive us.
RabThat dragon doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere any time soon, but if it ever got it into its head to attack the village, it wouldn’t be pretty.

Let’s get back to Hotto and tell everyone the beastie’s still alive. They have a right to know.
RabThose priests are doing their level best to hold back the beast, but they’re not going to be able to keep it up for long.

Come on, laddie. This isn’t the time for dilly-dallying. Let’s get back to Hotto and deal with that dragon!
RabCome on, laddie, ye heard young Atsuo. We need to find the key for that gate.
RabAye, reading her diary gives me an insight into what it must have been like for Miko.

I mean, there’s nothing I wouldnae have done if it could have saved Irwin and Eleanor’s lives…
RabAll Miko wanted to do was protect her son, but it’s too late for that now.

Come on, laddie. Let’s head up to that gate and get ready to take care of that beast once and for all.
RabAt least Ryu did have a wee taste of freedom when he was released from the dragon’s curse…

Perhaps it was Miko that gave him those last moments of life. Aye, there’s nothing more powerful than a mother’s love.
RabThat wasnae the friendliest roar I’ve ever heard… Come on, laddie! Let’s see what’s going on!
RabAtsuo called Miko a liar who’d made a bargain with the dragon, but can that really be true? She’s the most respected figure in the village.

We need to speak to her and clear this up, laddie. I’m sure it’s all been a terrible misunderstanding…
RabThe monks are fighting the good fight, but they’re not going to be able to hold that dragon off for long.

Look lively, laddie—we need to get back there and face that beast!
RabSo the big beastie that sent that priest packing was just a couple of wee bairns.

That priest is going to have some explaining to do when Miko finds out about this…
RabSo this beastie’s lurking somewhere round the western path, eh? We’ll need to keep our wits about us.
RabI thought this was a simple case of some beastie terrorising the village, but it seems things are a wee bit more complicated than that.

Before we go back to Hotto, let’s head into the volcano and find out what’s really going on.
RabThe monks are fighting the good fight, but they’re not going to be able to hold that dragon off for long.

Look lively, laddie—we need to get back there and face that beast!
RabI understand why Miko wanted to protect the dragon, but it’s clear there is no trace of her son left in that thing.

No, laddie. There’s only one thing left for us to do now—we have to slay the beast.
RabWhenever someone falls in battle, you should always try to remember them with respect, even if they were yer enemy.

The dragon’s gone now, as are Ryu and Miko, but I hope they’ve all found some kind of peace.
RabPeople are fending off ferocious beasties all over Erdrea, but this place is so peaceful…

Aye, that principal might look like a doddery auld codger, but he’s clearly got his head screwed on.
RabAch, when ye travel around like this, ye can see what a terrible shadow the fall of Yggdrasil has cast over the world.

Every second that Mordegon lives and breathes is a second too long. We’ve got to destroy him, and restore peace to the world!
RabTime is short, laddie. We need to forge that sword and get ourselves up to the Fortress of Fear. The world has suffered enough.

RabErdwin managed to find himself a hammer here in Gallopolis, laddie, and there’s no reason we can’t do the same.

Now that the panic over Erdwin’s Lantern has settled down a little, let’s see if the Sultan can’t help us.
RabSo it seems the Sultan’s been busy researching Erdwin’s Lantern.

RabListen, laddie, I don’t want to lecture ye, but this isn’t the time to be thinking about horses.

We need to talk to the Sultan and see if he knows anything about that hammer we saw Erdwin wielding.

Once we’ve got that, forged the Sword of Light and defeated the Lord of Shadows… Then ye can think about horses.
RabNow we’ve got our hands on Lorelei’s harp, we can use those shining whirlpools to get to places we’ve not yet been able to access.

Aye, it’s a terrible thing what’s happened to Erik, but we cannae let it throw us off course. Next stop, Arboria.
RabIt’s a shame about Erik’s memory, but we ought to count our blessings. Of all the ships in all the seas, it’s a miracle he stowed away in ours.

Speaking of ships—where to next, laddie? Octagonia was always chock-full of people—maybe one of them’ll know where to find our missing pals. What say we go and pay the auld stamping ground a visit?
RabIt’s a shame about Erik’s memory, but we ought to count our blessings. Of all the ships in all the seas, it’s a miracle he stowed away in ours.

But others haven’t been so lucky… We cannae leave Irwin to suffer like that in the tunnels beneath Dundrasil. We have to do something.

Come on, laddie—let’s weigh anchor at Zwaardsrust and head west. We’ll be in Dundrasil before ye know it.
RabIt’s a shame about Erik’s memory, but we ought to count our blessings. Of all the ships in all the seas, it’s a miracle he stowed away in ours.

Speaking of miracles…it was strange us all having the same dream in that inn near Zwaardsrust, wasn’t it? A tortured knight wearing Drasilian armour…

It makes me wonder what’s become of the auld place since the Lord of Shadows took over. What do ye say we head over to Dundrasil and take a wee look around?
RabIt’s a shame about Erik’s memory, but we ought to count our blessings. Of all the ships in all the seas, it’s a miracle he stowed away in ours.

Speaking of miracles…that inn Dave told us about near Zwaardsrust sounds a wee bit interesting. It’s not every day ye hear about everyone staying in a place having the same dream.

What did he say it was called again? Ah yes—the Warrior’s Rest, that was it! Well, laddie? Fancy finding out if there’s any truth to the tale?
RabSo Erik used to work for the Vikings here, alongside his wee sister…

And now a gang of golden horrors have grabbed him and taken him away…

I cannae help thinking there might be some connection between the two things.
RabDid ye hear that, laddie? Erik was muttering something about his past as he walked away…

D’ye think being back in the auld hideout might have brought back a memory or two…?
RabWe left Erik in that wee shack behind the Vikings’ hideout…

Come on laddie, let’s go and see how he’s doing, eh?
RabThe rascals who kidnapped Erik seemed to be working for somebody called Gyldygga.

That’s who’s been spreading the Gold Fever too, I’ll wager. Come on, laddie—let’s head over to that golden castle and see if we can’t put an end to it.
RabThe only way we’re going to stop the spread of Gold Fever and bring the afflicted back to life is by beating the one behind it all.

Damn yer eyes, Mordegon… I don’t want to hurt the poor wee lassie, but if we let Gyldygga be, the Fever will consume the whole of Erdrea.

…Ach, is there really no other way?
RabPhewee! It was touch and go for a while there, but we managed to put an end to Gold Fever and save wee Mia into the bargain! Thank goodness for that, eh?

Actually, it’s you and Erik I should be thanking. It just goes to show—true heroes never give up, even when all hope seems lost.
RabThe fall of Yggdrasil turned everything upside down. I just hope Queen Frysabel and the rest of the Sniflheimers are still safe.

Come on laddie, let’s go and check on Her Majesty.
RabThere’s nowhere in Erdrea that hasn’t been touched by the Lord of Shadows’ evil…

Well, it’s the Luminary’s job to put things right and save the people from the darkness—and when we get to Arboria, we’ll be one step closer to doing just that.
RabGold Fever’s even nastier than I thought. It turned that poor auld woman to gold quick as a flash. We have to find a cure, and fast.

But first of all, let’s see what that priest has to tell us about Erik’s past. Maybe he’ll be able to help us work out what’s behind the Fever too.
RabWe do need to work out what’s going on with this disease, but right now, I’m more worried about Erik. The lad was in a bad way back there. Let’s go and find him, shall we?
RabDon’t worry about Erik, laddie—the priest’ll take good care of him. Let’s away to the harbour.

If the townspeople’s screams are anything to go by, the ship that just docked down there isn’t a welcome sight.
RabThe priest was right. Erik really did used to work for the Vikings, and jings, laddie, they worked him to the bone.

This shack must have been Erik and Mia’s home…if ye can call it that…
RabSo Erik gave his little sister a lucky necklace for her birthday…

What was it he said? ‘Whoever wears it will find gold at their fingertips wherever they go.’ I’ll warrant he never expected it to actually work…
RabSo that’s why Erik ran away from Sniflheim way back when… Ach, it’s a crying shame what happened to his poor wee sister…

And it’s not the kind of memory ye’d want to relive. Come on, <pc>, let’s go and make sure Erik’s alright.
RabDon’t fret, laddie. We’ll get Erik back. Maybe the priest who was taking care of him will know where those monsters are headed.
RabYe heard what the Queen said, laddie. There’s a mystery disease going around that’s turning things to gold left, right and centre. Gold Fever, she called it.

And it sounds like we won’t be going to Arboria any time soon, either, not with that golden boulder blocking the way up into the Highlands.

…Ach, it never rains but it pours, eh? First things first, though, let’s head back outside and see what the Sniflheimers can tell us about this Fever.
RabAll these statues must be the people and animals who were struck by Gold Fever.

To steal the bodies of living beings and line them up for yer own amusement… This Gyldygga’s got a lot to answer for!
RabIt’s good to see these girls getting a well-rounded education.

One day, when peace returns to Erdrea and Dundrasil’s up and running again, perhaps I’ll set up a school of my own. I could certainly teach these lassies a thing or two! Hyeh heh!

My back’s been playing up something rotten lately, so I reckon a wee trip to the bathhouse would do me a world of good.
RabI’ll tell ye, laddie, when that auroral serpent had us all frozen on the spot, I thought I was on my way back to the void. Thank heavens Serena showed up when she did, eh?
RabWhat’s going on, laddie? This isn’t where Serena said her sister was. Don’t ye want to see yer auld pal again?

Look, if you and Veronica fell out over something or other, then ye ought to talk about it and clear the air. Ye’ll never be friends again otherwise.
RabI don’t think we’ll be bumping into any more ancient monsters around these parts. When ye’ve been on the road as long as I have, ye get a nose for these things.

Right, laddie—let’s jump back on Cetacea and have a wee look-see for that floating island, shall we?
RabAmazing, isn’t it? Serena can tell where her sister is even when she’s nowhere to be seen. That’s twins for ye, I suppose. Hyeh heh!
RabOch, Veronica… I cannae believe I’ll never see yer cheeky wee face again…
RabNow we’ve got Cetacea on our side, we can get all the way to Mordegon’s gates. Once we’ve found a way through that magic barrier, it’ll be time to face the blighter down once and for all.

It’s been a long road, but our journey’s nearly at an end. Let’s finish this—not just for us, but for Veronica.
RabHyeh heh heh! Trust Serena to be able to sense her sister from a mile off! Those two know each other like the backs of their hands!

Right then, let’s not keep big sis waiting. She’s sure to be lonely all on her own up there. Let’s go and say hello, shall we?
RabVeronica would sometimes call me ‘grandad’, ye know… Half the time she was taking the mick, but the other half, it felt like she really thought of me as part of the family…

And now I’ll never hear that sweet voice again… (sniff) I’m sorry, laddie—I think I need to be alone for a wee while…
RabCetacea, eh? I’ve been on the road for a fair wee while, but I cannae say that’s a name I’ve heard before.

Still, it seems like it’s only a matter of time till we meet this divine being face-to-face. We’re on the right track, laddie!
RabThey say that cutting yer hair symbolises a break with the past—Serena’s decided to put her sadness behind her and live on for her sister’s sake.

Ach, it seems such a shame to lose such beautiful long locks, but ye’ve got to hand it to the girl—she doesn’t look half bad with a bob! Hyeh heh!
RabWe’re above the clouds up here, so ye can see the Fortress of Fear clear as day.

While we were waiting for you two to arrive, I made a promise to Veronica—I swore that I’d bring that place crashing down and put an end to the Lord of Shadows once and for all.
RabPeople are fending off ferocious beasties all over Erdrea, but this place is so peaceful…

Aye, that principal might look like a doddery auld codger, but he’s clearly got his head screwed on.
RabHave ye seen these funny round nooks dotted around the edge of the island, laddie? It looks like something’s supposed to slot into them…but I’ve no idea what.
RabWell, this place is strange alright, but I wouldnae call it beautiful… This can’t be the island Father Benedictus was talking about.

We’ll not find the power we’re after around here, laddie. Let’s hop back onto Cetacea and try our luck somewhere else.

RabOur Watcher friend had heard of you, laddie. It seems he knew all about the Luminary. But then, if they’ve been watching over the world since the time of Erdwin, I suppose that’s no surprise.

I only wish there were a few more of the wee fellows here, so we could ask them about defeating the Lord of Shadows. It looks as though we’ll have to make do with what our new pal told us for now, though…
RabThere’s no doubt about it, laddie. Ye could tell from the way the mark on yer hand glowed that the Guiding Light has some kind of deep connection to the Luminary.

Aye, there’s more to this power of yers than any of us can imagine.
RabYou saw him, didn’t you, laddie? That man with the same mark on his hand as you? That must have been Erdwin, the first Luminary.

I don’t know the ins and outs of it, but there’s clearly some connection between the fate of the first Luminary and what we’re supposed to do next.
RabSeeing those visions of the past, it looks like Erdwin and his companions travelled the world, just like us.

Aye, and we both had a mortal enemy to defeat, too. For Erdwin, it was the Dark One, for us, it’s the Lord of Shadows. There’s no doubt about it, our destinies are intertwined.
RabSo our wee friend reckons the mine where Erdwin found the ore was an ancient battleground, eh?

Well, he seems to know what he’s talking about, so let’s trust him on that. I reckon he’ll have more helpful advice if we ask him nicely, too.
RabIt seems the mine where Erdwin found that ore was on another floating island just like this one.

Let’s have a word with our wee Watcher pal and see if he knows where it is.
RabEleanor… Irwin… It’s finally time. Yer wee boy is about to fulfil his destiny. He’s going to defeat the Lord of Shadows and save the world…

Watch over him, won’t ye? Make sure he comes home safe and well…
RabI don’t think hanging about here is going to make us any the wiser about how to take on the Lord of Shadows.

Come on, laddie. Let’s go back and visit our Watcher pal. I reckon it might be an idea to take a wee look around the temple.

Here’s hoping there’s a little bit left for us, eh? Come on, let’s get hunting!
RabJings, laddie, I’ve not seen a school this fancy in all my life!

One day, when Dundrasil’s back on its feet, I’m going to build a school just like this one, so that the bairns can help build a brighter future for the kingdom.
RabD’ye want to know a wee something about yer father, laddie? No matter what happened, he refused to give up.

Now we’re going to take a leaf out of his book. The odds may be stacked against us, but that’s not going to stop us—we’ll find the Lord of Shadows, and we’ll defeat him, you mark my words.
RabTime is short, laddie. We need to forge that sword and get ourselves up to the Fortress of Fear. The world has suffered enough.
RabSo we’ve entered the domain of the Lord of Shadows, and there isn’t a single guard to greet us!? It’s an insult, that’s what it is!

But no matter. The fiend will have plenty of time to regret his decisions…in hell!

RabErdwin managed to find himself a hammer here in Gallopolis, laddie, and there’s no reason we can’t do the same.

Now that the panic over Erdwin’s Lantern has settled down a little, let’s see if the Sultan can’t help us.

RabSo it seems Erdwin forged the original Sword of Light somewhere inside Mount Huji.

We should get back there and have a wee word with Miko’s maid. She seemed like she knew a thing or two.
RabI’d been hoping we’d have a chance to visit Hotto and have a hot bath… But something just doesn’t seem quite right here, does it, laddie?

Well, it’ll do us no good to ignore it. Let’s ask a few of the locals and find out what’s going on.
RabThe Lord of Shadows has pulled out all the stops, eh? I wasnae expecting one of the Spectral Sentinels to be here to welcome us.

Well, I’ve no doubt we’re in for more nasty surprises. Let’s keep our wits about us, laddie!
RabThe Lord of Shadows has pulled out all the stops, eh? I wasnae expecting one of the Spectral Sentinels to be here to welcome us.

Well, I’ve no doubt we’re in for more nasty surprises. Let’s keep our wits about us, laddie!
RabSo that’s the full roll call. Tyriant, Booga, Alizarin, Gyldygga, Indignus…and finally Jasper.

Now we’ve defeated Mordegon’s Spectral Sentinels, he’s without his most trusted lieutenants.

We’ll never have a better chance than this, laddie. Let’s bring this story to a close…

RabAll the rage and resentment in the world, all the darkness in people’s hearts, Mordegon feeds on it all… But if we can defeat him, we can bring hope back to the world!

RabListen, laddie, we’ve got to hurry up and defeat the Lord of Shadows so the world can get back to normal.

I just want to go back to enjoying life’s simple pleasures—I refuse to die before I peruse the latest edition of ‘The Ogler’s Digest’.

RabOnce we’ve dealt with the Lord of Shadows, I’m going to head straight to Cobblestone and thank them for all they’ve done.

I’d likely never have seen ye again if they hadn’t looked after ye and raised ye as their own. I owe them a lot. We all do.

RabD’ye know something, laddie? I remember the first time I held ye in my arms when ye were just a wee bairn. You were so light and frail, I was a wee bit worried.

But look at how ye turned out! A mighty warrior destined to defeat the Lord of Shadows!

We’re all depending on ye, laddie. Ye’ve got the world’s future in yer hands.

RabArboria’s got too many steep steps for my liking. Are ye sure ye won’t give me a piggyback, laddie?
RabI’d say it’s best not to say anything to the folks in Arboria about bringing Veronica back.

We don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up before we’re sure we can really do it.
RabIf ye want to gain something, ye have to be prepared to lose something. That’s the way of Yggdrasil…
RabLaddie, even though ye’re going back into the past, Yggdrasil will be still wanting ye to defeat the Lord of Shadows, and we’ll still be there, ready to help ye out.

So ye might feel sad about leaving us all here, but ye haven’t seen the last of us. Not by a long shot!
RabYe know, laddie, it’d be a nice idea to pay yer folks a wee visit and tell them all that ye’ve done.

The next time ye’re passing by Dundrasil, make sure ye put some flowers on their graves.
RabBringing people back from the dead isn’t exactly normal, but if there’s even the smallest chance of meeting Veronica again…

Look, it’s not going to be easy, but we have to try!
RabAye, the way the people of Cobblestone can live alongside the folks of Heliodor after they destroyed their village is impressive alright.

Still, I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised, eh, laddie? They did raise you, after all. They must have plenty of spirit.
RabSniflheim has been through some hard times, but it seems the kingdom has emerged unscathed. Aye, it always was a resourceful place.
RabI’m pretty impressed by young Mia, I have to say. She knows how much pain and suffering her choices have caused, and she’s not trying to shirk responsibility for them.

But then she’s lucky—not everyone has a brother who’s willing to do all he can to lighten her burden.
RabI hope Mia’s doing well. There’s something about her that reminds me of Jade when she was younger. She was a pretty tough customer too.

I remember she hardly ever smiled—I’d make a silly wee joke, and she’d just glare at me…

…Anyway, that’s enough of my reminiscing. Are ye sure we don’t have anywhere else to be, laddie? Somewhere less chilly, perhaps?
RabI hope Mia’s doing well. There’s something about her that reminds me of Jade when she was younger. She was a pretty tough customer too.

I remember she hardly ever smiled—I’d make a silly wee joke, and she’d just glare at me…
RabAye, there’s no mistaking the family resemblance! When Don Rodrigo dances, ye can see where Sylvando gets his sense of rhythm!
RabIt looks like the lads from Sylvando’s parade have found the place for them. It doesn’t look like they have any intention of leaving!

But then maybe it’s no surprise that Puerto Valor suits them—this is a place to perfect yer craft, whether it’s wielding a sword or dancing a jaunty wee jig.
RabOch, I’d give anything to be able to see Irwin and Eleanor again.

Sometimes I miss them so much it hurts, I tell ye.

But there’s no sense in dwelling on it. I’ve got things to do. Come on, laddie, let’s get going.
RabCome on, laddie, let’s go and tell yer folks that ye’ve defeated the Lord of Shadows.
RabI’d give anything to speak with Irwin and Eleanor again.

I miss them so much it hurts, but there’s no sense in dwelling on it. Not while I’ve got things to do and places to go.
RabYe know, laddie, ye should really pay a visit to yer parents’ graves since we’ve come all this way.

They’ll be pleased to see ye, I know it.
RabWhen the light burns bright enough, it can restore those lost to eternity… That’s what the book says, anyway.

Maybe it’s a load of auld nonsense, but until we get hold of the Wheel of Time, we can’t be sure.
RabSo if I understood the book correctly, now we’ve got this wheel, the beings known as the Spirits of Lost Time should be able to help guide us to the tower…

I’m not quite sure how it’s all meant to work, but if we keep looking I’m sure something will turn up.
RabThe sword Mordegon dropped may be filled with his dark power, but it’s still the sacred blade that came from Yggdrasil.

Make sure ye keep hold of it, laddie. It’s bound to come in handy sooner or later.
RabYour parents would be very proud of the choice ye’re making, laddie, I’m certain of it.
RabThat tower looks like a remnant of some ancient civilisation. I’d love to take a wee look around.
Rab…Are ye serious, laddie? Ye saw a whole horde of funny white critters gathering here?

Could they be the Spirits of Lost Time? Ye know, the ones we saw in the painting?
RabThat tower looked pretty ancient to me—let’s go and find out what mysteries it’s hiding, eh?
RabOnce this is all over, I want to come here and investigate this place properly.

There are ancient mysteries here waiting to be uncovered, laddie, I can feel it in my bones. Mysteries that go right back to the beginning of our world…
RabWell, I cannae fault yer ambition, laddie. Saving this world isn’t enough for ye, eh? Ye want to go back in time and make everything alright.

I can’t offer much assistance, I’m afraid, but know that I’ll be here praying for ye to succeed. I couldn’t be prouder of ye.
RabAye, this place looks strangely familiar. I have a feeling I saw a picture of a tower like this in an auld book many years ago.

It said something about the sands of time and some kind of mechanism that controls the way time flows, but I cannae remember the precise details.
Rab………
RabCastles may fall, villages may be burnt to the ground, but where there is life, there is hope. The people of this kingdom will rally and rebuild their homes. Aye, I am certain of it.
RabAye, things are certainly looking up for the people of Hotto now they don’t have a horrible dragon to be worrying about.
RabI still cannae work it out. Why was Mordegon so intent on slicing Erdwin’s Lantern in two?

And what does that word written on the star mean? ‘Calasmos’? There’s something about it that gives me the willies…
RabIf ye want to take part in a race, I willnae stop ye, laddie, but just mind ye don’t come a cropper.
RabYe did well to outrun the troops of Heliodor, laddie. I wouldnae have been able to do it at my age.

So I suppose it’s just as well I didn’t run into ye until after that, then, eh? Ho ho ho!
RabAye, there’s nothing quite like a casino! Now then, I fancy a wee roll of the dice or two, laddie. Anything to impress the pretty young ladies who work here!
RabRemember Kainui’s mother talking about her son being so serious and responsible, laddie? She was on to something there. I’d like to talk to her again one day.
RabThese folks live their lives below the waves, but when they die, they return to Yggdrasil like all living things. Life’s always a journey, but these people really have to travel a fair way.
RabNhou Wat was built by a civilisation that was destroyed by the Lord of Shadows in the distant past.

Now that he’s been defeated and that evil wall painting is no more, perhaps all of the lost souls that were trapped in there have found their way back to Yggdrasil.
RabGrand Master Pang may no longer be around, but we can still pay a visit to the High Lama.

He may not be as ferocious as my auld teacher, but I bet he could still give ye a mean smack on the backside!
RabAye, this is the life! I’d love a wee cup of tea and a lie-down in the sunshine!
RabIf I spent one more night at the Warrior’s Rest, I wonder if I could see my Eleanor and Irwin again? I’d love nothing more than to meet them in a happy dream…
RabQueen Frysabel has grown up to be a fine young woman. If auld King Gustaf could see her now, I bet he’d be proud as punch.
RabJust imagine what the Watchers’ home must have been like before Mordegon made it fall from the sky.

I can’t help feeling that it would have held the answers to a lot of the world’s deepest mysteries…
RabAye, this reminds me of yer parents’ wedding, laddie. Yer auld man was so nervous, he wandered off right before the ceremony. It’s lucky we found him in time.

But d’ye know something? Ye’re looking more like him with each passing day. I cannae explain it exactly, but it’s something in yer eyes.
RabWhat’s the matter, laddie? Was there something ye needed to do before heading up to Yggdrasil?

Alright, then. Do what ye must, then we’ll head back to the First Forest and take it from there. Just don’t go disappearing again, ye hear?
Rab………

…Sorry, laddie. I was miles away. Now, let’s get to Heliodor. We’ve got some feasting to do!
Rab………

…Sorry, laddie. I was miles away. Now, let’s get to Heliodor. We’ve got some feasting to do!
RabI never thought I’d see the World Tree up close… It’s funny how life turns out, eh?

Now listen, laddie. I just know that Irwin and Eleanor are looking down on ye, and I know that they’re smiling. This is their wee boy’s big moment!
RabI always wondered how we’d actually get up to the World Tree… Turns out we’ll be using some flashy bridge! Aye, it was never going to be boring, eh?

Now come on, laddie! If ye want to learn how to dispel the darkness, we’re going to need to pay a visit to the Heart of Yggdrasil!
RabIt’s been quite a journey, laddie, but ye’ve finally managed to get yer hands on the Sword of Light.

Now, make sure ye look after it, won’t ye? Ye know as well as I do that it isn’t the kind of sword ye find every day.
RabAch, I’d been hoping to go and tell Irwin and Eleanor that we’ve finally beaten Mordegon, but it seems I’ll have to put that plan on hold.

Come on, laddie. We’ve got falling stars to deal with!
RabMordegon has been pulling the wool over everyone’s eyes since the day Dundrasil fell…

I cannae forgive him this! But we need to be careful, laddie. Who knows what he’ll do when he’s cornered.
RabAch, I’d been hoping to go and tell Irwin and Eleanor that we’ve finally beaten Mordegon, but it seems I’ll have to put that plan on hold.
RabWhat are we doing wandering around here, laddie?

We need to get back to the castle and track down that imposter, quick smart.
RabWe’re looking like a pretty formidable unit, laddie. I mean, ye’ve gone from strength to strength, and now we’ve got young Hendrik on board too.

Still, I can’t help feeling a wee bit nervous. There’s something in the air, something dark and foreboding. I’m worried things’ll get worse before they get better…
RabSo this school is dedicated to turning wee girls into mini medal-appreciating young lassies, is it?

I’m afraid someone’s going to have to explain the connection between medals and refinement, because it’s lost on me…
RabFrom what our new pal told us, this dark star may have something to do with the return of Calasmos…

Ach, but I don’t have the first clue who or what that is, or what we’re supposed to do about it. Come on, laddie, let’s start by talking to the Elder.
RabIt seems ye’re the light the world needs to banish the darkness, laddie. By my reckoning, that means ye were born to defeat Calasmos.

And there was me thinking ye’d fulfilled yer destiny when we beat Mordegon. It seems ye’ve still got some work to do, eh!?
RabThe visions Yggdrasil has shown us seem to suggest that Cetacea is the key to reaching the Dark One.

It’s still far from clear how that’s going to happen, though. Let’s see what the final seedling’s got to tell us, eh?
RabAye, there’s no doubt about it. The fellow we saw with the glowing mark on his hand must have been Erdwin, the first Luminary.

Now, let’s see what else these seedlings have to show us, laddie. With any luck, we’ll find out how he managed to take on the Dark One.
RabIt seems the Guiding Light has given ye the power to awaken the visions of the past that are concealed within the seedlings.

With any luck, they’ll show us a way to take on the Dark One. Now, let’s see if we can find any more, eh?
RabThe Watchers are a canny bunch, no doubt about it. Their world is truly beyond our ken.

I wouldnae be surprised if they know exactly how to get to that tower, so let’s see what they have to say for themselves.
RabThe Elder said that Mordegon always craved more power, and that he’d do anything to get his hands on it…

Aye, that sounds about right. Up in Angri-La they talked about how hard he trained. How single-minded he was…

It’s just a shame he didn’t choose to channel all that determination into something that’d do the world a bit of good.
RabThe Watchers have been cut off from the human world for a long time. It’d be nice if they could come down for a wee visit once the Dark One is out of the picture.

They’re a friendly bunch, after all. I’m sure folks down on the surface would be happy to meet them.
RabYou know, laddie, I always thought your destiny was defeating Mordegon, but it seems there may be a wee bit more to it than that.

Either way, we need to take a closer look at that dark star, otherwise we won’t have a clue what’s going on.
RabIt seems the Guiding Light has given ye the power to awaken the visions of the past that are contained in the seedlings.

With any luck, they’ll help us find a way to take on the Dark One. Let’s see what they have to show us!
RabOch, I still cannae get my head round it. Could the Lord of Shadows really have been born from the darkness within the mighty wizard Morcant?

Look, I’m never going to forgive Mordegon for what he did, but the more I think about it, the more it seems like he was just another victim of the Dark One.
RabListen, laddie. The Dark One’s not like any enemy we’ve tangled with before. He’s posed a mortal threat to our world ever since he first appeared.

We need to be sure we’re ready to face him, so honing our fighting skills in the trials of Zwaardsrust doesn’t sound like a bad idea.

If we put the work in and make sure we’re in tip-top condition, there’s no reason we cannae defeat Calasmos.
RabAh, this takes me back! I lived up this mountain when I was a wee lad. It wasnae easy, but those were great days.

Aye, all those smacks I got on the jacksie feel like they were only yesterday…
RabThat tower’s been there a long auld while if ye ask me, laddie.

I’d love to look into its origins, but we haven’t got time for that right now.
RabLet’s see if I’ve got this right, laddie… Serenica came to this tower hoping to be reunited with her lost love, Erdwin?

Ach, but I just cannae imagine how she planned on doing that. Perhaps all will be revealed inside, though, eh?
RabThis tower uses some of the technology we saw in the Watchers’ village, but it’s got something that’s all its own, too.

I’ve got a feeling that whoever it was who built this place, it wasnae the Watchers…
RabD’ye want to hear a story, laddie? Well, this place makes me think back to the time I first met yer grandmother.

There was this bookshop in Dundrasil I liked to visit, and one day I went in and saw her standing behind the counter.

Aye, she was a real vision. I took one look at her bonnie smiling face and fell head over heels in love. The rest, as they say, is history!
RabTo think, laddie, ye were a prince, but ye ended up growing up in a little village like this.

Then again, if the people of Cobblestone hadn’t taken ye in, I might never have met ye again. Aye, I owe them more than I can say.

Once this is all over, I’m going to come back here and thank them properly.
RabAye, it’s nice to see so many familiar faces making their way to Cobblestone. The place is certainly looking a lot livelier than it did when I first came here.

Who knows, one day it might be a city to rival Heliodor! Hyeh heh heh!
RabOch, laddie, ye’ve done well there! Gemma’s a bonnie lass and no mistake!

Yer parents would be over the moon, I just know they would. They’re up there smiling down on ye both, ye can take my word for it.
RabSounds like you and Erik are having a grand auld time living together. Almost makes me feel a wee bit left out…
RabYe’ve got yerself a bonnie lass there, laddie, even if she does have a habit of trying to do everything by herself sometimes.

Mind you, maybe ye’re not so different in that regard, eh? Aye, a right pair of peas in a pod you are.

Now remember, if you ever need help with anything, let us know. That’s what family and friends are for, after all!
RabWell, laddie? How are things going with young Serena?

Listen, the important thing is that ye always treat each other with love and respect—not that I imagine that being a problem for the two of you, of course!
RabYe’ll be right as rain as long as ye’re living with Sylvando, laddie!

I bet you two have some good fun and all, eh? I’ve a mind to ask ye to let me swap places with ye sometime…
RabIt brings me such joy to see you and Jade living together, laddie—the royal families of Dundrasil and Heliodor united, at last!

Both of you mean so much to me, and I wish you all the happiness in the world.
RabI haven’t a bad word to say about anyone in this village, laddie. Ye fell on yer feet when ye washed up here, that’s for sure!

And I’ll tell ye who else has fallen on his feet: me! Living with their wee grandkid’s every grandad’s dream!
RabI haven’t a bad word to say about anyone in this village, laddie. Ye fell on yer feet when ye washed up here, that’s for sure!

Now, if ye don’t mind, there’s something I’d like to do, just the two of us. Would you join me on a walk up Cobblestone Tor, laddie?
RabWell laddie, how’s life with Hendrik treating ye? I bet ye’re getting in plenty of sword practice.

Do let me know the next time ye decide to have a duel. I’m getting a wee bit rusty myself and wouldn’t mind putting you boys through yer paces!
RabI heard all about that wee adventure ye had when ye climbed the Tor for yer coming of age ceremony.

Ye saved Gemma’s life, from what I’m told. Aye, it sounds like ye were a proper hero. I’m proud of ye laddie!
RabI’m nothing but grateful for the fact we’re able to live together after all those years apart, laddie.

Ye make me so proud. I swear I’ll never leave ye on yer lonesome again…

Oh, and listen… Let me know if ye ever fancy having another wee peek at my magazine collection, alright? It’ll be our little secret.
RabI cannae believe ye’re that same wee baby I used to hold in my arms so long ago. It truly fills me with pride to see the fine figure of a man ye’ve become.

By the way, didn’t ye say that ye went to the top of this tor when ye came of age? I wouldnae mind seeing the view with my own eyes, if that’s alright with you, laddie.
RabI cannae be sure, but it seems the regular folk of Heliodor weren’t much affected by their king being possessed by Mordegon.

If the truth hadn’t come out, he’d likely still be seen as a normal ruler, hiding in plain sight.
RabJade’s felt like a daughter to me for years now, but it’s time for her to be with her real father.

Now that Mordegon is no more, my auld friend Carnelian can begin to make up for lost time and start getting to know his beloved daughter. Aye, they’ve a bright future ahead of them, I’m sure of it.
RabJasper was our enemy for a long time, but I don’t bear him any grudges. No, in the end he was just a sad, confused young man.

Perhaps all he wanted deep down was a true connection with others. It was when he couldn’t find it that he turned to the darkness and things started to go very, very wrong…
RabLaddie, ye’ve no choice but to leave this fight to Hendrik. He’s decided he’s going to take on his auld friend alone, and there isn’t a thing in the world anyone can do to dissuade him.
RabAye, thinking back to the day Dundrasil was attacked, we all lost so much. Not least Hendrik and Jasper…
Rab…Hm, I cannae for the life of me work it out. The roots of Yggdrasil are only meant to show ye visions of things that’ve actually happened. But what we saw was different…wasn’t it?

I mean, it was Heliodor Castle, but it was in a right auld state, and as for Jasper? Well, he was more beast than man. Och, it’s all very strange…
RabTo be honest with ye, I prefer nice down-to-earth places like this to hanging about in stuffy castles.

The folks here have spirit, which is more than I can say for most of the stuck-up snobs ye meet when ye’re hanging around with royalty.
RabAh, good auld Hotto! Come on, laddie, since we’re here, we’ve got to pay a visit to the bathhouse!

It’ll get rid of all yer aches and pains, I’m telling ye! Last time, I spent so long stewing in there that Jade had to threaten to physically remove me herself!
RabI know this might sound a wee bit odd, but I’m slightly envious of Miko.

I mean, she managed to save her son. I never had the chance to save my daughter or her husband…

Thank goodness I’ve still got you, eh, laddie? Life does go on, after all.
RabOch, I’ve never felt anything quite like this before, laddie.

If we don’t do something about that star, it feels like evil is going to consume the whole world.
RabIt seems the Sultan’s got himself pretty het up about this dark star. Well, I cannae blame him, but he needs to stay strong for his people.

Still, when all’s said and done, he’ll always do what’s best for his kingdom, I’ve not got the slightest doubt about that.
RabI feared for my life when I first saw that horrible bunch of beasties, but we took care of them in the end.

Now that things are back to normal, Gondolia will be flourishing again before we know it!
RabThese beasties are no pushover, laddie. I know ye want to rid the town of every last one of them, but there’s no shame in beating a tactical retreat every now and then.

If ye’re not feeling up to the task, maybe it’s best to head off and build up a wee bit of experience by fighting some slightly softer monsters.
RabYe know, laddie, it’s amazing to think that I wouldnae have met ye again if it hadn’t been for the Masked Martial Arts contest.

Aye, I’m always going to have a soft spot for Octagonia, that’s for sure.
RabNo one seems to have any idea what these ruins were used for. It’s a total mystery.

Perhaps once we’ve got all this business with the dark star out of the way, I’ll come back here and do a wee bit of research. Who knows what I might uncover?
RabI remember the good auld days in Dundrasil. We’d get delicious fresh bread and fine wines delivered from Zwaardsrust.

Ye know, it might not be a bad idea to spend a night in the Warrior’s Rest. We can sample some of the local fare.
RabWhen the world is at peace again, I’ll have one last piece of unfinished business. I’m going to devote the rest of my life to rebuilding Dundrasil.

I won’t be doing it alone, though. No, ye’ll be by my side, laddie, and yer parents will be looking down on us and smiling.

Now let’s get rid of that ugly great brute of a thing hanging in the sky! Then a new day can dawn for all of us!
RabWhen the world is at peace again, I’ll have one last piece of unfinished business. I’m going to devote the rest of my life to rebuilding Dundrasil.

We’re going to have to get rid of that ugly great brute of a thing hanging in the sky first, though. Then a new day can dawn for all of us!
RabWhen the world is at peace again, I’ll have one last piece of unfinished business. I’m going to devote the rest of my life to rebuilding Dundrasil.

I won’t be doing it alone, though. No, ye’ll be by my side, laddie, and yer parents will be looking down on us and smiling.

Now let’s get go and show Calasmos what for! Then a new day can dawn for all of us!
Rab………
RabThese tunnels were built as an escape route, in case the castle ever came under siege.

They’re not much use to anyone now, but still I get this funny feeling that we’re not alone down here. Let’s keep our wits about us, laddie.
RabWell laddie, there ye have it. The mightiest weapon in the world isn’t a sword or a spear—it’s teamwork. There are things we can do as a group that we could never do alone.

If we can team up and work together, nothing can stand in our way, not even that horrible dark star.
RabAye, Don Rodrigo is an impressive fellow, alright. There aren’t many knights like that left, and now he’s put that wee misunderstanding with our Sylvando behind him, we’ve got him on our side.

Right, it’s time to find out more about this mighty weapon he mentioned. If that’s what we need to get rid of that dark star, we’d better get our hands on it—and fast!
RabAye, I’d heard something on the grapevine about Don Rodrigo’s son Norberto going AWOL… But now it turns out he’s none other than our Sylvando!

That was all a long time ago now, though. I’d say Hendrik did well to work out who Sylv really was.
RabHyeh heh heh! Now here’s an intriguing auld building I’d like to do a wee bit of research into!

I’d heard rumours that knights trained here, but no one really knows who first built it. I’ll have to do some digging into the archives when I have the time.
RabYe know, laddie, I’m not one to order ye around, but I cannae help but feel we have more important things we need to be doing.

…Of course, if you fancied joining me in a wee wager, that’d be a different matter. Wait, no! We have things to do! Important things!
RabIt seems the poor folks of Lonalulu cannae even enjoy their festival because of all the rampaging beasties running about the place.

We need to get rid of that dark star quick smart—these folks deserve a good knees-up!
RabIf we don’t do something about that dark star, this tropical paradise will be overrun by nasty beasties!

Och, it doesn’t bear thinking about! We cannae let that happen, laddie!
RabI’ve got to hand it to that grey gordon, he knew how to move!

He’s not the only one, though! I like to think I’ve still got it. Just point me towards the nearest dance floor—I willnae let any mangy monster show me up!
RabHustle! Hustle! Hustle!

…Och, I’m sorry, laddie. Watching these folks going at it made me want to have a wee dance as well.
RabAye, I’d say this was the perfect place for any monsters that want to lie low…

Which means there’s a good chance that the horrible beasties which put that curse on the village are hiding out here. Well, we won’t let them get away with it, will we laddie?
RabIf the beasties in the sea are acting up, it’s sure to disrupt the trade routes into Sniflheim.

We cannae allow the kingdom to become cut off from the world. We need to do something about that dark star, laddie, and fast!
RabI’ll be honest with ye, laddie. I did wonder if Queen Frysabel was tough enough to rule this kingdom. It seems she’s making a decent fist of it, though, eh?

Well, she isn’t alone, of course. She’s got Krystalinda on her side. Between them, I’m sure they’ll do a great job.
RabApparently the Hekswood is a haven for all sorts of plants and mushrooms. We cannae see them, though—they’re all hidden under a thick blanket of snow.

It just shows ye that life goes on, even in the harshest of climates. It’s rather inspiring, if ye ask me!
RabThey say that in ancient times, some mighty genius created the first gentleman’s periodical, the archetype for all that came after, including my beloved Ogler’s Digest.

Legend has it that Erdwin himself took the first copy of that organ with him on his epic journey, but that it hasn’t been seen since. Ah, I’d give anything to have a wee peek at it! I wonder who’s on the cover!?
RabWell, laddie, ye did well to save Mia from her fate, but I still cannae believe what happened to the poor girl!

Just imagine if she’d used that power in the service of evil. Och, it doesn’t bear thinking about! The whole world would be gold-plated by now!
RabI can sense ye’re impatient to get on with saving the world, laddie, but there’s no need to rush.

Ye need to speak to all the folks ye can and see what ye can learn. And don’t forget to chat to yer companions, too!
RabAye, Arboria’s a pretty special place, alright. Its people have always known that their destiny is to guide the Luminary.

Just as Serenica once did, Veronica and Serena set off to find you and guide you on your way. Och, they’re a fine pair of lassies, they really are.
RabOch, that was a mighty wallop that Grand Master Pang gave me. She hasn’t mellowed with age, that’s for sure. My jacksie’ll be red raw for a week!

Ah, but it’ll take more than a smack on the backside to stop me!

Well laddie, it’s time to take on the Wheel of Harma. No one’s managed it since Erdwin himself, so it’s going to be a stiff challenge. I know we can do it, though—let’s show Grand Master Pang what we’ve got!
RabAh, it’s good to be back in Angri-La. This is where Erdwin once took on the supreme challenge of the Wheel of Harma, ye know.

Now, there’s a training area called the Field of Discipline on the other side of the High Hall. Ye’ll usually find folk honing their minds and bodies in there.
RabI was just a wee bairn when I first came to Angri-La, so this is a real trip down memory lane for me.

…Oh, hang on a sec! I just remembered something! There’s this funny-looking tree near the entrance to the village…

Now I come to think of it, it looks a wee bit like the sacred seedlings in the Watchers’ temple.

I reckon it’d be worth our while taking a look at it, laddie. Ye never know…
RabThe peak of Mount Pang Lai is a very spiritual place. It’s said to be close to the void, the borderland that separates the worlds of the living and the dead.

In fact, they even say that if the correct ritual is performed, ye can take leave of your body and visit that place yerself…

I’ve not been there myself, mind you, so it’s probably better to take all that with a wee pinch of salt.
RabErdrea doesn’t belong to us humans, ye know. We share it with all sorts of other creatures: on the surface, in the air and under the sea.

Remember, laddie: when we fight, we’re doing it for all of them.
RabGoing sailing should be a real treat. The wind in yer hair, the sun on yer face… But we’ve got no time to enjoy it now.

No, we’ve got work to do. We need to get rid of that dark star before it can cause any more trouble.
RabI’m proud of ye, laddie! I never imagined in a million years ye’d go and forge another Sword of Light!

I mean, ye looked like ye knew exactly what we were doing. Ye haven’t been training as a blacksmith in secret, have ye?

Well, however ye managed it, I’m impressed. Ye’re the finest grandson an auld man could have!
RabDid ye see how the whole Crucible reacted when ye held up the Guiding Light, laddie?

However the ancients built it, they made sure that only the Luminary could trigger their contraption…
RabMiko spoke about casting some ‘holy flame’ into the lake of lava. Well, that sounds like the Guiding Light to me.

Give it a go, laddie. Chuck the Guiding Light into the volcano and see what happens.

If we’re lucky, the legendary Crucible will be revived.
RabI once read an auld book about a mine full of precious ore, up on an island floating in the sky.

Now, there cannae be that many islands suspended in mid-air, laddie, so I’d say it’s a fair bet that this is the same place.
RabCan we take a wee breather, laddie? My knees aren’t enjoying these mountain paths.

In my youth I would’ve climbed a mountain like this without breaking a sweat, but it seems those days are long gone.
RabThis must be the place Cetacea told us about.

In that case, it was built by Drustan in order to test the mettle of any who dared to come here… Well, I’m ready if you are, laddie!
RabHold on a second! Weren’t we meant to be underground?

We’d better stay on our toes, laddie—who knows where we’ll end up next?
RabYe know, I feel a certain kinship with the Watchers. I think it’s because they’re short, round…and canny as anything!
RabLook out, laddie! There’s a beastie about to attack!

…Sorry! I spoke too soon! It looks like the monsters here aren’t interested in picking fights.

Docile monsters or not, though, it’s still a strange place to choose to live. Let’s have a wee chat with the locals and see what we can find out.
RabAch, these monsters are no pushover… Ye know, laddie, we shouldn’t have the same folks fighting every time. We’ll wear ourselves out.

Try choosing the best combination for each monster, and we’ll have more chance of getting through this.
RabAch, why’d we have to come here? It gives me the willies!

Whoever designed this place needs their head examining, that’s all I’ll say.
RabDrustan waited all this time in case the Dark One ever returned.

Not even death would stand in his way. We are truly blessed to have his guidance. We cannae let him down, laddie. Now come on, it’s time for the final trial!
RabWell, this is an impressive-looking spot alright. Something dramatic’s bound to happen here, laddie, you mark my words…
RabThe Tower of Lost Time, eh? That’s where Serenica went, long ago in the Age of Heroes…

Well, we’re not going to find out what’s going on just sitting here—let’s get going, laddie!
Rab……
