Thanks!

You’re welcome. It’s been a privilege.

Here are some bugs.

Thanks. I’ve done a poor job of fixing the bugs and typos people have kindly reported in the past. This time, I’m planning to loop back in a month or so and do a final v1.00 that fixes the typos.

Please help me run this!

Unfortunately, I don’t have time to do technical support. I’m really sorry.

The solution to issues is generally updating your version of PPSSPP, updating your PSP’s CFW, and toggling any options you have enabled for CFW (e.g. Magic Save).

Do you have an update patch for version 0.90?

Sorry, this would have been a good thing to include (especially since I screwed up the v0.91 torrent). Here is a v0.90 -> v0.91 update patch. This is ONLY for updating a patched 0.90 ISO to a patched 0.91 ISO. Very few people will still want this.

  1. Hi, it’s me again.
    1. I wanna say thank you for v0.90 to v0.91 update patch, i really really appreciate it. You’re my hero. I’m serious~
    2. I know it’s too soon and sounds like begging, but if it’s possible i hope you create a v0.91 to v1.00 update patch when it’s released in the future.
Again, thank you. thank you for everything.

  2. Thanks so much for these translations! I really appreciate it.

I noticed a few potential misromanizations in the credits of the original DS 7th Dragon. Is there any chance you’d be willing to share the graphics for the original names? I haven’t been able to find video/images of the Japanese credits sequence.

    1. Believe it or not, I don’t have these, and haven’t figured out a good way of viewing them easily. I sent you an email, but if you check the translation kit, you will find a file called “Credit Plotter v5” which contains my best attempt at transcribing the kanji.
I apologize I can’t be more help, but my time is very limited these days. Have you tried loading an endgame save into the JP ROM, clearing the game, and capturing it yourself? I agree it’s not ideal but it’s the best I can offer.

  4. Hi! Thanks for the translations. I quite liked the games, especially the DS one (which was the best in my opinion, at least as far as the plot is concerned).

I did notice some significant errors in 7th Dragon 2020-II, though:
    – The Samurai’s Garuda Whirlwind skill is described as affecting one enemy, when it actually affects all enemies.
    – Conversely, the Idol’s Follow Me skill is described as affecting all allies, when it actually affects only one ally.
    – The Ragnarok claw is described as having ATK+70 MAT+140, when trying to equip it shows it actually has ATK+102 MAT+136. (This is probably a copy+paste error from the original 2020, where the weapon by the same name did have ATK+70 MAT+140.) There might be other items like this, but this is the only one I noticed.

There were some other minor mistakes in the dialogue that didn’t really hurt comprehension, but unfortunately I didn’t keep track of them, as I was more interested in enjoying the games than nitpicking.

Also, I noticed that the project page on this site (http://cavespeak.org/index.php/projects/) still links to version 0.90 of the 2020-II patch, when the blog shows that there’s a version 0.91.

  5. I bought 7th Dragon III Code: VFD in December and it’s made me a fan of the series. I installed custom firmware on my PlayStation Vita just so I could play these games in English. I was wondering if the Data Install option unlocks some extra content like in some PlayStation Portable games I’ve read about online or if it’s strictly for load times. After buying both Persona 2 games, my 16GB memory card is running low.

  6. Hello, I’ve been following this project for a long time and I’m wondering if v1.0 is something that will ever happen in the foreseeable future or if you are already “done” with this.
    Anyways, thanks for the translation.
